Group life insurance

Employees are enrolled in Omega`s personal insurance scheme, including group life insurance.

Insurance

Group life insurance secures your family and nearest financially if you pass away. The insurance will be paid for those left behind, when the insured person has passed away.

• The insurance applies regardless cause of death
• The insurance also applies for those on leave with full or part pay
• The insurance also applies for those on rehabilitation or with disability benefits
• You may continue the insurance if you leave Omega before reaching retirement age
• Basic compensation is 20 G (the National Insurance base rate). This applies for all employees under the age of 70
• If the employee should die due to illness during off-duty hours, compensation is 16 G

Survivors

• The insurance amount is paid to the deceased`s spouse, registered partner or cohabitant
• If the deceased leaves no spouse, registered partner or cohabitant, the amount will be paid to his/her lineal heirs
• If the deceased leaves no lineal heirs, the amount will be paid to the person it is left to by will, or others heirs pursuant to law

Beneficiaries

The insured person may appoint one or several persons as beneficiaries of the insured amount, with any supplements or a part of the amount. The nearest family should be informed of the appointment.

If you leave Omega

Should you decide to leave Omega before retirement, you may register for a continuation insurance. A health declaration will not be required. If you wish to continue the insurance, you must notify the insurance company of this, no later than six months after you have resigned.
