Acceleration in Stavanger
Published: 19.01.2012
With more than 200 consultants and 100 available jobs in the Stavanger region , reinforcements were required. Two new Consultant Managers are ready to accelerate Omega's activity in the Norwegian oil capital.
2011 was a year of records for Omega regarding the number of client requests and new employees in Omega, and this incline is expected to continue throughout 2012. Based on the number of consultants in the Stavanger region and the tough competition for industry talent, there are busy times ahead for Omega's new management duo in Stavanger; Kari Marie Usken and Kristin Jæger are ready to drive further expansion in the area.
100 jobs available
Kari Marie Usken (left) and Kristin Jæger are Omega's new Consultant Managers in Stavanger.
Today, Omega has more than 200 consultants connected to its office in Forus, Stavanger. In addition, more than 100 of the 200 available jobs currently listed on jobs.omega.no are located in the Stavanger region.
Armed with extensive know-how from the consultant business, both Usken and Jæger are eager to introduce even more employees to Omega in Stavanger.
“The job market is far from saturated and available talent is scarce, but with more than 200 team members in the Stavanger area we are already well established here, and can only reach new heights,” Jæger points out, and Usken agrees:
“New oil discoveries mean there will be more than enough to do in our business, and the Stavanger market is still very good. The competition between the consultant companies is tough, but those who are able to attract consultants will always lead the pack,” Usken says.
Up until 2012, Omega's consultant business in Stavanger has largely been administered from the head office in Ølensvåg, a 2.5-hour drive away. The presence of new Consultant Managers in Stavanger will ensure closer contact with our existing and potential consultants in the region.
One step ahead
Both Usken and Jæger bring extensive experience to their new employer. Kristin Jæger has been working for more than 15 years in consultant recruitment and has worked with everything from negotiations and the implementation of agreements, to recruitment, management and marketing.
Kari Marie Usken boasts 13 years of experience in the industry with a focus on the recruitment of personnel for both commercial and technical services.
Omega’s Stavanger duo predicts tougher competition for consultants, but suggests that those who stay one step ahead of the game will attract the best candidates; In that area, Omega has a definite advantage, according to Usken and Jæger, who were both familiar with Omega before joining the team themselves.
“Omega has a very good reputation, both amongst clients and consultants. They are well known for taking good care of their employees. That is an invaluable advantage,” Jæger emphasizes.
