Omnicom sale to UK Power Networks
Published: 13.12.11
One of the UK's largest electricity distribution companies recently signed an Omnicom license, including a three-year support agreement, with Omega.
- Software company Omniware was acquired by Omega in 2010
- Omnicom and Omnisafe then became a part of Omega’s product portfolio
- Omnicom is a contract management system with more than 10 000 users worldwide; clients include the State of Ohio and The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority
- Omnicom was recently sold to UK Power Networks , one of Britain's largest electricity distribution companies
Omega’s Contract Management software solution, Omnicom, has broken new ground having recently secured an agreement with one of the UK’s largest power distribution companies.
“For some years now, the UK office has been focused on the sale of Omnicom and Omnisafe and has managed to establish a blue-chip client base,” says Omega’s UK Sales Account Manager, Tim Hallam.
Three-year agreement
Hallam recently secured the Omnicom sale to UK Power Networks, which distributes electricity to more than eight million customers in London, the East of England and the South East.
The contract includes support and maintenance for a three-year period and is one of Omega’s largest sales in the UK this year, according to Omega Project Systems Manager, Arnt Mundal.
“The latest large license sales have been made in the UK. The number of user licenses sold has not been high, but the sale to UK Power Networks is a significantly large license,” Mundal points out.
Expansion in 2012
The new license follows another Omnicom enterprise deal this year with the Department of Environment and Rural Affairs (Defra), which includes up to 50 separate government agencies.
In 2012 Omega's UK office will focus on strengthening Omnisafe's footing in the shipping market, whilst also introducing Omnicom to other UK agencies.
“As we keep the Omnisafe focus on the shipping market in 2012, we will also work with Defra to widen its usage of Omnicom with other UK government departments,” Hallam says.
