Ready to expand in Canada
Published: 27.01.12
Kenneth Steinsvik and his team are ready to double Omega PS's efforts in Canada: double the systems crew and double the project portfolio.
Kenneth Steinsvik is ready for more Omega action in Canada.
Omega PS Canada
- Omega PS Canada established in 2006
- The Canadian office has three employees today and is looking to hire more System Engineers
- Omega PS Canada's clients include Hatch, Devon, OSUM, COSL, WorleyParsons
- Hatch is one of the largest PIMS CMS clients and are considering including more PIMS modules in their projects in the future
- Kenneth Steinvik became President of Omega PS Canada in 2011. He has been working for Omega since 2004 on assignments for Statoil (Kårstø), in Australia, Cananda and China.
Omega PS Canada is leaving behind its humble beginnings and preparing for growth in 2012. In 2011, Kenneth Steinsvik joined the team as President of Omega Canada. Today, he manages the Canada office from Toronto but is planning to move and is ready for further expansion of both the client list and Omega team in Calgary.
“This year we will take one step further in really etablishing Canada. The most important apect of our development will be building the Omega culture the way we know it from Norway, and the key is to hire the right people with the Omega spirit,” says Steinsvik.
More for Hatch
Today Hatch is one of the largest PIMS CMS clients, after Omega entered into a global agreement with the Canadian engineering company last year. Hatch’s headquarters are located in Toronto and the company has got clients in mining, infrastructure and the energy sector.
“PIMS CMS is now utilized in eight or nine projects all over the world for Hatch, who want to run this on all of their projects in time. We are currently working on getting more PIMS modules in Hatch projects and by the end of 2012 PIMS systems will probably be utilized in 20 of their projects globally,” Steinsvik says.
Team expansion
As Steinsvik is working to expand the client portfolio, he is also on the look out to add more team members to his Calgary office.
“Currently Omega PS Canada is made up of system engineers Mike McDonnell, James Migel and myself. Now we are looking to hire more people.”
The Canadian branch of Omega is looking forward to building a strong Omega on the American continent, along with its neighboring office in the US.
“We have always been close and relied on Omega Houston’s efforts. Ståle Håheim and Trong Nguyen from the US office have been highly involved in our Canadian enterprise. I am hoping this cooperation can be mutual in the future, and that Houston can also benefit from our resources and expertise,” Steinsvik says.
