Omega is still growing
Published: 15.02.2011
2010 represented another year of growth for Omega; the number of employees, business activity and turnover reached another Omega record.
The number of employees increased with 121 in the course of 2010, and Omega secured a number of frame agreements during the year. The turnover in the Omega concern increased with six per cent last year and reached 843 MNOK. Omega CEO Petter Aalvik is impressed with the Omega organisation`s ability to make the best of the market.
- Both Omega AS and the its subsidiaries grew in 2010, says Omega CEO Petter Aalvik, who believes the demand for Omega product and services will increase also in 2011.
Up from 2009
- A year turnover says a lot about the year, but first of all most about the preceding year. Going into 2010 we were aware that whatever growth we would have, we would have to make in 2010, since we did not have much from 2009 going into the new year, says Aalvik.
The Omega concern had an increase in turnover from 796 MNOK in 2009, to 843 MNOK in 2010. The financial result after tax for the Omega concern was 35 MNOK, up from 30 MNOK in 2009. When the market loosened up in the fall of 2010, Omega was in a position of securing new jobs, and the cooperation with Ølensvåg neighbor Westcon led to another top in business activity at Omega, Aalvik says.
On board with Westcon
- We secured a number of frame agreements with several companies during the year, among them Conoco Phillips, Eni and Statoil. Neil Carlsens effort with Westcon to bring Scarabeo 8 to Ølensvåg was a substantial contribution to the record high activity at the end of the year, says Aalvik.
PIMS won new market shares as global system solutions for larger oil companies in 2010. In addition to the traditional PIMS-solutions in Project Control, Document Control and CMS, the Risk Management-solution rose to become a winner, says Aalvik.
Expanded with Omniware
In November 2010 Omega acquired all of the shares in Omniware AS, and with the transaction Omega got 70 new clients, 22 new team members, and software within HSE and Contract Management, which complements Omegas product portfolio. Omniware AS is based in Kristiansund and has subsidiaries in Perth Australia, Houston USA, and Oxforshire England.
- We appreciate cooperating on growth and development with such a good leader team and enthusiastic team members, Aalvik says.
Expectations
The Omega CEO expects higher demand also in 2011.
- We expect the demand for Omega products and services will rise. Both Omega AS and its subsidiaries showed growth in 2010, which means more jobs and a greater network of team members going into 2011. We are now more than 750 team members, but we still have to work just as hard to be big enough to deliver, small enough to care.
