Vågslid Cabin

Omega’s employees have since 1999 had the chance to enjoy our cabin at Vågslid, close to Haukeli. With a capacity of 12–14 guests, it is an excellent family location both in summer and winter.

NB! Smoking forbidden.

On departure

• You may bring your own bed linen and towels, but if you use the ones in the cabin you must wash and dry them before departure.
• We ask that the cabin is left tidy after use. Washing and cleaning is done by our own cleaner between stays.
• Please turn all of the heaters down to 12 degrees.
• Make sure the dish washer is finished until you turn off the water.

Location

Vågslid is located in the Vinje Kommune in Telemark, along the E 134 road, between Haukeligrend and Haukeliseter. The area is blessed with a unique natural environment that offers visitors a wide variety of outdoor activities. In winter, visitors can enjoy many family-friendly cross-country trails, or for the more experienced, powerful peaks are also within reach. If cross-country is not your style, the skilifts at Haukelifjell ski centre will take you (and your snowboard) to the top.

A trip to the winter sports destination of Hovden is also well within reach. Hovden, featuring a high-quality ski centre and Badeland (aqualand), is approximately 42 km away. During the warmer months, hiking, hunting and fishing opportunities abound. Fishing cards are available at all tourist centres and provide access to over 50 fishing waters in the wider area.

The cabin is surrounded by magnificent mountain highlands – some of the most exciting terrain that Norway can offer. A variety of ski track networks for cross-country skiing are within easy reach (maps can be purchased in Vågslid - Statens Kartverk). When the conditions are right, the cabin’s surrounds are often rich with wild berries. The closest place to eat from the cabin is Vågslid Høyfjellshotell (approximately 4 km). If you require groceries/firewood, a post office, or a bank, these goods and services are available at Haukeligrend (approximately 16km east).

Getting there

Take the turnoff towards the Haukelifjell Ski Centre, then take the first road to the left. Continue through some bends in the road and up an incline to the parking lot on the left-hand side. The cabin is nearby the parking lot.
