On departure

Cleaning

  • We ask that the cabin is left tidy after use. Washing and cleaning is done by our own cleaner between stays.
  • Garbage is to be put in black plastic bags that you can find in the outer shed. You can leave the garbage bags at the wastebins in the parking lot. See directions under "Parking" further down on the page.

Firewood

There must be two sacks of firewood at the cabin at all times. Please make sure that there is firewood available at the cabin on departure.

Heating

On departure, please turn all of the heaters down to 14 degrees. You will find the temperature switch for the heating in the fuse box in the hall.

Water

The main water faucet is under the sink in the outside storage room. When the white handle is positioned in an 90 degree angel the faucet is closed. It is open when the handled is positioned in parallel with the tube. The faucet must be closed when leaving the cabin. (See explanatory picture in the Photo Album below. )

Location

The cabin is located approximately 1,5 km north of Hovden centre. Hovden is a year-round tourist centre with attractions including Hegni Park, Hovden Hunting and Shooting Centre, fishing and walking trails. In the winter alpine and cross-country enthusiasts are attracted to the Hovden Ski Centre and to 132 km of well-prepared cross-country runs. Hovden Badeland is a great year-round attraction, with its open-air and indoor swimming pools for adults and children.

How to get there

From Haukeli

  • Drive Rv 9 until you get then Hovden Fjellstoge on your right hand side.
  • Drive in to Hovden Fjellstoge, and take the first turn left. Follow the road parallel with RV 9.
  • Take the first turn right after approximately 30 meters, and drive till the end of the road.
  • You will get the parking space on your right hand side. You can see the top of the cabin from the parking lot.
  • It is a 50 meter walk down towards the Otra river.

From Hovden

  • Drive 1,5 km on Rv 9 from Hovden City centre.
  • Turn left to Hovden Fjellstoge. Take the first turn left. Follow the road parallel with RV 9.
  • Take the first turn right after approximately 30 meters and drive till the end of the road.
  • You will get the parking space on your right hand side. You can see the top of the cabin from the parking lot.
  • It is a 50 meter walk down towards the Otra River.

Parking

As shown in the directions there is a parking lot that belongs to the cabin. Extra cars can park further down by the other cabins. To get there you drive straight ahead after the junction from Hovden Fjellstoge, do not turn right. You drive parallel with the Rv9 for approximately 50 m. On your right hand side you wil find the parking lot for extra cars. Here you will also find the garbage bins for the waste after your stay at the cabin.
